Instant Credit Check for PLUS Loans
American Education Services (AES) provides a Parent/Graduate PLUS pre-approval process online that can be completed by parents, graduate students, schools or lenders. The AES Parent/Graduate PLUS Loan pre-approval and MPN is available 24/7 and can be accessed by selecting Apply for a Parent/Graduate PLUS Loan.
Before completing the actual Parent/Graduate PLUS MPN Online, the applicants (parents or graduates) must provide essential information. During this process, if the applicant chooses a participating lender of the AES Parent/Graduate PLUS loan pre-approved program, they receive an instant online response. (It is important to note that if the applicant chooses a lender that does not participate in the AES Parent/Graduate PLUS loan pre-approval program, the parent can still continue completing the Parent/Graduate PLUS MPN online.)
If a credit check is approved, the parent has several options:
- Complete the Parent/Graduate PLUS MPN online and electronically sign the document with their U.S. Department of Education Personal Identification Number (PIN)
- Print the Parent/Graduate PLUS MPN at their printer, sign it and mail it to AES at:
P.O. Box 8177 Harrisburg, PA 17105 - Request a pre-printed MPN to be mailed to the parent for their signature, then the parent must return it to AES.
In instances where credit checks are denied, the appropriate documentation is sent to the applicant and the school and lender are notified either electronically or via mail.
Customizable Lenders
AES allows schools to customize various aspects of the Parent/Graduate PLUS MPN Online process. Schools can display an unlimited amount of lenders (and create separate lists for both Stafford and Parent/Graduate PLUS) in the order that they request. Online Loan Wrap
Another customization that AES offers to schools is our online loan wrap. An online loan wrap is a letter that schools can have placed online which will assist parents with the Parent/Graduate PLUS MPN Online process. Schools can make text changes to the wrap and add instructions that pertain specifically to their institution. Also, we can incorporate a school’s logo at the top of the letter to further personalize the loan wrap. We encourage schools to include contact phone numbers and an email address in the instance that parents would have additional questions.
