Logging In

OneLINK Users:
OneLINK users will continue to access PageCenter via the OneLINK toolbar. However, to use the new version successfully, you will need to download two plug-ins. To do this, see the instructions below.

First-time PageCenter Users:
First-time users must log-in using the user-id and the first-time password supplied to you by your AES/PHEAA contact. When you enter your user-id and password, you will be prompted to enter a new password. This prompt indicates your password has expired. You must then type in your user-id, first-time password, new password following AES standards, and verify new password (type in the password you selected again). Once all three fields are populated, you may then click Login to enter PageCenter. NOTE: You will need to download two plug-ins. To do this, see the instructions below.

Returning PageCenter Users:
Log-in using your current user id and password. You will need to download two plug-ins. To do this, see the instructions below.

Customization

PageCenter now allows you to customize your session by suppressing unneeded columns. When you suppress a column, it will disappear from view.

To suppress a column:

  • Click on Preferences from the Main Options Menu.
  • Scroll to the Column Preferences section.
  • Click on the checkmark in the dialog box next to the column you no longer wish to view. You must click Update from the Options Taskbar for your customizations to change. Your session will use these new settings until you change them again.

The first four sections pertain to settings controlling your general display or specific parts of your display:

Display Preferences:

  • General Settings - Controls the settings of your session.
  • Browse Options - Controls the settings when you are browsing a pageset.
  • AFP Settings - Controls the settings when you are browsing a pageset using AFP.
  • Print Plugin Settings - Controls the settings used for printing a pageset.

You may customize any or all of the screens listed under the heading Column Preferences.

Column Preferences:

  • Mailbox List - List of mailboxes you are authorized to see.
  • Application List - List of applications within a mailbox.
  • Notice List - List of pagesets within an application.
  • Pageset History - List of pageset generations when accessing the pageset's history.
  • Index Names - List of index names when accessing the pageset's indexes. Pagesets would not be indexed unless requested by you.
  • Index Documents - List of documents available after you click on a KEY value.

Local Print

The Local Print feature creates a more direct avenue for printing the pageset. This replaced the "Range Browse" and "Output" buttons. This feature is available whenever you view the pageset. The "ALL" feature has been added to allow you to print the entire pageset more easily. To print a pageset use the following procedure:

  • While viewing the pageset, select Local Print from the options taskbar.
  • The Local Print screen will appear in a new window.
  • Select the print options you wish to use.
  • Select the radio button next to All.
  • You may change the default print setting for Font Size, Margins, and Orientation, but the default print settings are usually the best possible print.
  • Click Print, and the pageset will print to your printer.

Restoring a Vaulted Pageset

The vaulted pageset restore procedure is another enhancement. You will receive a message stating "Invalid Action - Dataset is in Vault a RESTORE is needed" when a pageset is unavailable. This prompts you to use the restore procedure. The restore procedure is as follows:

  • Select the radio button of the pageset you wish to see in the lower frame.
  • Click on History from the options taskbar in the upper frame.
  • Select the radio button of the generation you wish to see in the lower frame.
  • Click on Restore from the options taskbar in the upper frame.
  • A new window will appear, click Restore again.
  • A message will appear stating that the restore has been scheduled. Wait a few minutes until the location field changes from VAULT-1 to ARCHIVE. You will need to refresh your screen by clicking on Refresh from the options taskbar in order to see the change.
  • Once the location field changes from VAULT-1 to ARCHIVE, you can click on the link to the generation of the pageset to view it.

NOTE: You can also tell if a pageset needs to be restored by clicking on the radio button next to the pageset, clicking on History, and determining whether the location field contains ARCHIVE, VAULT-1 or VAULT-2. If the location field contains VAULT-1 or VAULT-2, the pageset will need to be restored. If the location is VAULT-2, you must contact an AES/PHEAA customer support representative to have it restored.
