Improve Financial Literacy

  • Adventures in Cash City: Learning to Make Smart Financial Decisions - This CD-ROM is an interactive learning tool for students in grades 6-8. The purpose of this game is to teach students the basics about finances and to help them make educated financial decisions as they prepare to enter high school. The content is presented in a game show format hosted by the animated character, Dinero Dog.

The game is designed around situations that imitate real life financial circumstances during a student's "high school" years: Handling Cash, Getting a Job, Choosing a Career, and Buying a Car.

A User's Guide accompanies the CD-ROM and contains information on the game, the questions and answers and an appendix with financial literacy lesson plans for use in the classroom.

  • Jump$tart - The Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy seeks to improve financial literacy of young adults and believes that all young adults need to have the financial literacy necessary to make informed financial decisions.
