Loan Delinquency

If you’ve fallen behind on your student loan, it’s important that we work together to resolve the delinquency before the loan defaults. Default occurs on a federal student loan after 270 days of delinquency and may include severe consequences such as immediate payment of the balance in full, collection fees and reporting to consumer reporting agencies.

For private education loans, each lender has specific guidelines to determine when a loan defaults or is reported to consumer reporting agencies.
